Eileen was a lovely lady, she was resident in a Nursing Home I once worked in. We met there and just ''clicked'' she and i chatted daily and when i ended my employment there, i still continued to visit her.
She talked about everything, she made me laugh and cry. Eileen was a Sunday School Teacher and a Bell Ringer at St Peters Church, Ash. After training at Dalley's Secretarial School, she worked at Gale & Polden ,then the NAAFI in Aldershot.Later she worked for Silver City Airways at Blackbushe Airport and then finally as Secretary to the Defence Land Agent, MOD Farnborough.
Eileen loved tennis,dancing,gardening,classical music and collecting stamps. She sang in a Barber Shop Group
and later with Cove Singers who entertained at homes and hospitals in the area.Eileen left behind 2 children, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, the last of which was born on the day she passed away sadly.
We talked about the war, her children and grandchildren, her animals, her parents, her husband Thomas who sadly passed away a long time ago and who she will now be reunited with. I loved hearing her stories and we often joked i would have to censor her memoirs should she ever publish them! She never got around to that as she passed away before she had the chance. I visit her still, to take flowers on her birthday, at christmas and on the anniversary of her passing.She was a wonderful lady and is sadly missed.
Her funeral was packed and she had so many flowers. See you when its my turn Eileen, look after my Clint for me until i get there. Bless you.x
